Friends of Ashe County Animal Shelter (FAAS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cats and dogs in Ashe County, North Carolina. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for animals in need, either through fostering or adoption, and offer services to help ensure a healthy animal population.

FAAS volunteers focus on delivering compassionate and productive solutions for animals, owners, and our partners in Ashe County NC, including the Ashe County Animal Shelter, aimed at improving animal welfare and reducing the number of animals in need and at risk of euthanasia.

We believe in the power of community and compassion to drive positive change. FAAS is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, unaffiliated with the County of Ashe.

Foster

All you have to provide is a safe and loving environment for your temporary guest.

We believe that every animal deserves a chance at a loving home and a better life. Our Ashe County Animal Control shelter can't keep an adoptable pet long-term, so if an adoptive family isn't available, our fosters provide the only solution to euthanasia. Fosters don't pay for any of the pet's needs; FAAS covers everything. All you provide is love, safety and structure.  To apply to become a foster click here

Adopt

Adoption is a commitment that comes wrapped in love.

A successful adoption gives a lovable pet a second chance to be happy and healthy. The benefits of owning a forever friend are immense, but adoption is a long-term commitment that shouldn't be undertaken lightly.  That's why we provide ongoing support and resources to ensure a smooth transition for both you and your new family member.
